Aquaculture Technician (Maintenance)

This role falls under our Fish Farm Umbrella and we are seeking to hire Aquaculture Technician to undertake the responsibility to preserve the good condition and functionality of premises. Candidate will be able to work autonomously and responsibly by observing all health and safety guidelines.

Please note - This role is mainly maintenance focused and is based in Umm Al Quwain

A.Operate, maintain, and repair MEP systems including:

• Water pumps
• Blowers, piping
• Filters (biofilters, drum filters)
• Electrical ( switch) panels
• VFDs, PLCs and control systems
• Oxygenation/aeration systems
• Chillers, and heatersUV sterilization
• Ozone systems, and CO2 degassers

B. Monitor and maintain critical equipment within RAS units to ensure water quality and system stability :

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance according to operational schedules.
• Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and plumbing failures in life support systems. Maintain detailed maintenance logs, daily checklists, and incident reports.
• Collaborate closely with aquaculture operations and biosecurity teams to ensure optimal system performance.
• Calibrate and monitor sensors and instrumentation (pH, DO, temperature, salinity, flow meters).Assist in the commissioning of new systems and infrastructure, including upgrades to existing RAS facilities. Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards

Preferred Educational Qualifications And Professional Certifications

• Diploma / Technical Certificate in Mechanical, Electrical, or Plumbing Engineering.

Experience

• Minimum 3–5 years of hands-on experience in RAS-based aquaculture facilities.Strong understanding of recirculating water systems, water quality management, and equipment used in fish/shrimp farming.
• Familiarity with PLC-based control systems, electrical schematics, and automation technologies.
• Experience working with piping systems (PVC, HDPE, stainless steel) and fluid dynamics.Basic knowledge of biosecurity protocols in aquaculture settings.
