As Shamal Holding continues to grow, we’re in search of a Senior Manager – Data and Analytics. In this role you will lead the strategic development and management of data-driven initiatives, driving informed decision making and operational efficiency, working with agile squads to collect, analyse, and utilise data to align with business goals, foster innovation, and gain competitive insights.

Responsibilities

Strategic Responsibilities:

  • Create and implement a comprehensive data and analytics strategy aligned with organizational objectives to drive innovation, informed decision-making, and competitive advantage.
  • Establish data governance frameworks and policies to ensure data accuracy, integrity, security, and compliance across the organization's data ecosystem.
  • Lead the development of business analytics solutions, including predictive modeling, data visualization, and reporting tools, to provide actionable insights for key stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with departments across the organization to identify opportunities for leveraging data to optimize processes, people, enhance customer experiences, and identify growth areas.
  • Evaluate and implement cutting-edge data technologies and tools that enable efficient data collection, processing, storage, and analysis to support the organization's strategic goals.

 IT Management and Governance:

  • Helps establish governance structure where decision-making is weighted toward empowered teams.
  • Lead and manage the Data Analytics squads and outcomes.
  • Prepare and monitor IT capital and operational budgets for assigned portfolio.
  • Execute through alignment to the new digital operating model and working with crossfunctional squads orchestrating continuous value delivery through release planning increments.
  • Balance between and keeping pace with technology developments, business strategy, competitive landscape, evolving stakeholder needs, and initiative goals/deadlines.

IT Operations:

  • Direct the planning, deployment and management of the data analytics initiatives and services.
  • Oversee the demand management exercise to collect Digital requirements and ensure they address them in alignment with the overall IT and Data Analytics strategy.
  • Ensure the design and implementation of applications and systems align with Shamal Holding IT & Data Analytics strategy and roadmap.
  • Ensure the provision of L1, L2, and L3 support for all Data Analytics applications and it’s infrastructure.

Data Architecture:

  • Leads development of data architecture, guide technology directions, and set appropriate strategies, policies, standards and practices to govern the Data landscape of the organization.

IT Security:

  • Supports the setup, maintenance, monitoring, and improvement of the security of systems related to analytics.
  • Implement information security standards for the assigned portfolio, policies and procedures across Shamal Holding based on leading industry guidelines and regulatory requirements (e.g. DESC, TDRA, NESA, GDPR).

Data Management:

  • In collaboration with the Data management and protection team of Shamal, ensure Shamal Holding complies with relevant data management regulations and best practices, and lead the development of a centralized customer data management platform for Shamal Holding.
  • Ensure Shamal Holding data arising out of platforms, is appropriately managed, maintained, and monitored, and procedures are established to continuously improve data quality and utilization. In addition to developing necessary controls to ensure the data collected is accurate, valid, granular, complete, and consistent.

 People Management Responsibilities:

  • Set clear expectations to the team, inspire, and motivate direct reportees, and lead by example. Provide guidance, coaching, and mentorship to team members to help them achieve their performance goals.
  • In collaboration with the People function, identify and address skill gaps, and provide opportunities for learning and development for the Data Analytics employees.
  • Direct the employee performance management processes within Data and Analytics in alignment with the People policies and procedures to ensure continuous improvement for the employee’s performance.
  • Direct the performance evaluation process and validate its results within Data and Analytics in alignment with the People policies & procedures to ensure appropriate and fair evaluation for the employees concerned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Information Technology, Digital Transformation, or a related field.
  • MBA or related advanced business degrees, are preferable
  • A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience with at least 3 years in a managerial or supervisory role.
  • Experience as a Data Analytics Lead or equivalent position in a global environment.
  • Experience to set and communicate a clear vision, aligning data initiatives with business goals.
  • Proficiency in developing comprehensive data strategies to drive decision-making and innovation.
  • Familiarity with data technologies, tools, and platforms for efficient data collection, storage, and analysis.
  • Skill in working with diverse teams and departments to leverage data for organizational improvement.
  • Effective communication of complex insights to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience in building and leading high-performing data teams.
  • Understanding of industry trends, competitive landscapes, and business drivers.
  • Ability to identify challenges and design data-driven solutions to address them.
  • Extensive experience in scrum/project management/delivery management or an associated area.
  • An entrepreneurial mindset; able and interested to pursue new business channels and models.
