This role is responsible for transport passengers, determining the safest routes, analyzing flight plans and weather conditions, calculating fuel, and inspecting operation systems and navigation equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare or supervise flight planning and obtain briefing information regarding purpose of the flight, weather, operating procedures, and special instructions and consider such factors as altitude, terrain, weather, fuel requirements, performance, airport facilities, navigational aids, and aircraft weight and balance.
  • Supervise all crew members to insure proper planning and flight preparation.
  • Ensure the aircraft is inspected prior to flight, to include inspection of engines, fuselage and control surfaces for mechanical and structural soundness and proper operation of communication and navigational equipment.
  • Perform or supervise loading and distribution of passengers and materials and determines that the weight and balance and performance limitations within all prescribed limitations contained in the aircraft flight manual.
  • Ensure that passengers are properly seated and secured. Any other materials, to include helmets, should be properly secured in the aircraft.
  • Operate the aircraft smoothly and professionally, with safety of the passengers as your first priority.
  • Park and secure the aircraft at the end of the day and remove any garbage that may have accumulated in the aircraft throughout the day. Complete necessary paperwork and verify that control locks are engaged

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree or relevant.
  • DHC-6 Rated preferred
  • License: ATPL or CPL
  • 1500 hours total time
  • 150 hrs in the DHC-6 is preferred
  • Turbine aircraft paradropping experience preferred
