Associate - Financial Reporting

As Shamal Holding continues to grow, we’re in search of an Associate – Financial Reporting. In this role you will deliver accurate, timely and IFRS-compliant standalone and consolidated financial statements for Shamal Group and its subsidiaries, and clean external audit outcomes, so that leadership, shareholders and regulators can rely on the Group's financial information. The role is also accountable for measurably faster, better-controlled reporting cycles by identifying, building and embedding automation and AI within existing finance and reporting systems.

Financial Reporting Responsibilities:

• Standalone and consolidated financial statements are delivered to agreed quarterly and annual deadlines, fully compliant with IFRSs and free of material error.
• Consolidation at each parent entity level is completed accurately each cycle, with all manual consolidation entries posted in ERP and fully supported.
• External audits close on schedule with no material adjustments, supported by complete, first-time-right schedules, documentation and information co-ordinated across functions.
• General ledger balances are substantiated and note disclosures are supported by reviewed, audit-ready account schedules.
• Transactions and disclosures are treated correctly under IFRSs, with no restatements or audit findings on revenue recognition, impairments, leases or financial instruments.
• Monthly close is completed on time, with ERP sub-ledgers closed and reopened within the agreed timetable.
• Chart of accounts, financial dimensions, bank master and bank mandates remain accurate and controlled across ERP and online banking.
• All group bank accounts are reconciled monthly with reconciling items cleared within the agreed ageing threshold.
• Reporting procedures and documentation improve year on year, evidenced by reduced rework and shorter close cycles.

Automation, AI and Systems Responsibilities:

• Automation and AI solutions are delivered into live use within finance and reporting systems, producing measurable reductions in manual effort, risk and operational cost.
• Reporting requirements are translated into working platform-enabled solutions, resulting in more integrated and standardised finance systems with ERP maintained as the single system of record.
• Automated processes and system changes go live with controls intact, sustaining audit readiness, regulatory compliance and reliable statutory and management reporting.
• AI and intelligent automation are adopted responsibly, giving decision-makers faster and sharper financial insight.
• System enhancements, upgrades and digital initiatives land with minimal disruption, evidenced by successful testing, controlled change and a prepared user base.
• Emerging technology and AI trends are translated into practical ideas adopted by the finance team, strengthening a culture of innovation and value add.
• Wider finance team goals are met through effective support and delivery of other tasks as required by the line manager and business needs.

• Professional qualified or part-qualified accountant (CA, ACCA, CPA)
• Bachelor of Commerce or equivalent degree in Accounting/Finance
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in Accounting/Finance/Audit – (Big4 experience will be an add-on)
• Hands-on experience working with ERP systems and their technical and functional capabilities
• Demonstrated experience or strong interest in automation, AI and digital transformation within a finance environment
