As Shamal Holding continues to grow, we’re in search of a Manager – Tax. Reporting to the Executive Director - Tax, you will own end-to-end delivery of Tax compliance and advisory across Shamal, ensuring the Group meets every VAT, Corporate Tax and Transfer Pricing obligation on time and without penalty. The role advises the business on the tax impact of transactions and structures, delivers decision-ready analysis to senior management, and acts as the Group's day-to-day technical authority on tax. As the organisation continues to grow, the role also shaping a tax function that can scale alongside it, building the foundations, processes and capacity needed to support the business as it evolves.

Responsibilities

Financial Dimensions

  • Accountable for VAT, Corporate Tax and Transfer Pricing compliance across all Shamal Group entities (UAE and international).
  • Filing accuracy and timeliness directly control the Group's exposure to FTA penalties, fines and interest.
  • Owns tax planning and structuring analysis that shapes senior management decisions affecting the Group's effective tax rate and cash tax position and leads the relationship with external advisors and tax authorities.

 

Key Outcomes

  • Zero late filings and zero FTA penalties for VAT and Corporate Tax returns across all Shamal Group entities.
  • All new-entity FTA registrations, voluntary disclosures, clarifications and refund claims completed within statutory deadlines.
  • Corporate Tax and restructuring recommendations delivered to senior management that keep the Group's effective tax rate efficient and fully compliant.
  • Accurate, on-time filings and refund recovery for international tax obligations, with mitigation of double-taxation exposure.
  • Tax risks across the Group's VAT and Corporate Tax position identified early and escalated with clear mitigation recommendations.
  • 100% on-time ESR and Country-by-Country Reporting (CBCR) compliance, and Transfer Pricing policies that meet regulatory requirements and withstand audit scrutiny.
  • Coordination with relevant departments to secure the contracts and documentation needed to capture available tax benefits and avoid preventable penalties.
  • Tax audits and authority queries led efficiently to closure protecting the companies interests, managing tax authorities and external consultants directly.
  • Tax policies and procedures kept current, with technology and e-invoicing tools successfully implemented ahead of regulatory mandates.
  • Adoption of AI-enabled tools to streamline tax processes, improving turnaround time and accuracy across compliance and reporting activities.

Qualifications

  • Master degree in Tax/Accounting/Finance or Professional qualification: CA or ACCA (or equivalent)
  • 5-8 years experience in a tax role (VAT and Corporate Tax), including at least 2 years managing UAE compliance in a multi-entity environment.
  • Additional certification in taxation (e.g. CTA, Diploma in International Taxation)
  • Renowned tax firm or in-house tax leadership background within a group holding company or multinational structure, with experience in managing multiple stakeholders.
